We are seeking an experienced Editor to join our team at Explorer Group Canada Ltd. as a key member of our content creation and review process.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the suitability of material for publication, detecting and correcting errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax, and planning coverage of upcoming events. They will also be responsible for assigning work to staff, ensuring production deadlines are met, and writing or preparing introductions, marketing, and promotional materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate suitability of material for publication, broadcast, or publication on the Internet
  • Detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax
  • Shorten or lengthen copy
  • Plan coverage of upcoming events and assign work accordingly
  • Confer with authors, staff writers, reporters, and others regarding revisions to copy
  • Plan and co-ordinate activities of staff and assure production deadlines are met
  • Write or prepare introductions, marketing, and promotional materials, bibliographic references, indexes, and other text
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Publisher, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Word
Working Conditions:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Permanent work term
  • Work language: English
