Job Description

Job Title: Grade 2 Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grade 2 Teacher to join our instructional team at Fort McMurray Public School Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve student outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with curriculum developments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent
  • Alberta Teaching Certificate or ability to obtain
  • Experience teaching primary grades
  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Experience with differentiated instruction and individualized program planning
  • Knowledge of curriculum and teaching strategies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
