Job Overview

Calian Group Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Solution Architect to support a large-scale activity system. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing security solutions that meet business, operational, technical, and security requirements.

This is a full-time contract opportunity with a flexible schedule, requiring only one day of onsite work per week in Ottawa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT security and experience working with various high-availability solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement security solutions that align with business and technical requirements.
  2. Participate in all phases of the solution development life cycle, bringing technical expertise and creativity to initiatives and teams.
  3. Evaluate and select hardware and software technology and product standards, designing standard configurations and implementing them in operations.
  4. Research and monitor technology developments and industry trends, assessing their applicability and recommending solutions that enhance productivity and business objectives.
  5. Contribute to the development of Cyber Security Solution Architecture processes, tools, standards, and templates.
  6. Support the creation of solutions that meet the Cyber Security Program's strategic and tactical objectives, adhering to enterprise architecture and standards.
  7. Ensure that chosen solutions are closely aligned with the company's cybersecurity initiatives and vision, including securing cloud-based solutions.
  8. Other activities and deliverables as required.
Requirements
  1. A minimum of five years of experience in a Cyber Security role in organizations with more than 500 employees, using various high-availability solutions.
  2. University degree or college diploma in computer science, IT engineering, or cyber security.
  3. A minimum of ten years of recent relevant work experience in the IT field.
  4. A minimum of five years of experience in developing solutions architecture.
  5. A minimum of five years of IT security experience.
  6. A minimum of five years of experience working in a cyber assessment program.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the development and application of security policies and security technical standards.
  8. Demonstrated experience with different architecture and design techniques and tools.
  9. Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of security solutions.
  10. Demonstrated experience with security Information and event management (SIEM) platforms and end-point detection and response (EDR) platforms is an asset.
  11. Demonstrated experience in the implementation of cyber security solutions in Microsoft Azure is an asset.
