Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our Supply Chain team at Hercules SLR. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring high-quality products and materials to support our sales and service operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase products and materials based on demand to support customer orders and stock requirements through established ERP processes and policies from approved vendors.
  • Review purchasing requisitions for accuracy and verify current inventory levels from associated primary vendors.
  • Identify product requirements and coordinate with suppliers to meet tight deadlines and special shipping instructions.
  • Source and obtain price quotes from suppliers and prepare purchase orders within purchasing authority.
  • Support Purchasing Agents and Category Buyers by entering order confirmations, backorder follow-up, and data analysis.
  • Purchase the highest quality products and materials at the lowest possible price and in the correct amounts.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
  • Work with the finance department to process payments and invoices promptly.

Requirements

  • High school graduate plus college diploma or related certificate preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to identify and present information that will motivate, persuade, engage, or influence others.
  • Demonstrates commitment to process improvement.
  • Must be fluent in English written and verbal.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
