Job Title: Educational Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Counsellor to join our team at Gateway College. As an Educational Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in achieving their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Education: Provide guidance and support to students in their academic pursuits, including helping them choose courses and programs that align with their interests and career aspirations.
  • Experience: Collaborate with students to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and develop strategies to overcome challenges and achieve success.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in programs that support the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees, including providing information and resources to help them navigate the education system.
  • Support for Youth: Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to youth, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their careers.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Provide cultural competency training and awareness to employees, and facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.

Requirements:

  • Permanent position
  • English language proficiency
  • 30-36 hours per week
