Support Worker Role in Healthcare

About the Position
We are seeking a Health Care Support Worker to join our team at Golden Life Management Corporation. As an integral member of our healthcare delivery team, you will provide essential non-clinical support to enhance the quality of life for clients and residents.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients and residents.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, and light housekeeping.
- Support clients and residents in maintaining their independence, promoting dignity and respect.
- Communicate effectively with clients, residents, and family members, addressing concerns and needs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to privacy policies.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of Grade 10, including successful completion of English 10 or equivalency.
- No prior completion of an HCA training program in BC.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residence.
- Able to commit to entire program duration, which is expected to be anywhere from 12-18 months in length.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of carrying out physical duties included in the position.
- A compassionate individual with a passion for helping others.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A team player who thrives in a supportive environment.
- No prior experience required – we provide all the training.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
