The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead the overall success of the Customer Preference Management Regulatory Program (Operating Practices). This role provides subject matter expertise and regulatory governance over customer preference management and compliance with Canadian marketing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide independent oversight and effective challenge to business lines.
  • Leverage your thorough knowledge of Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules and other applicable Canadian marketing regulations to assess requests and provide guidance to Business Lines and Marketing in Canadian Banking, Tangerine, and other Scotiabank entities.
  • Ensure that Scotiabank's Customer Preference Management policies and procedures, as well as applicable marketing regulations are applied when business units promote products, services, or individuals.
  • Partner with Legal, Privacy and Compliance as needed.
  • Champion a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, preferably including a degree in marketing or related field.
  • Comfortable working independently and with a low level of direction/oversight.
  • Solid understanding of Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation required. Experience managing regulatory compliance in a financial institution is an asset.
  • DIRECT or database marketing experience is strongly recommended.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
