About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Standards Research to join our team at CSA Group. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our research program, ensuring that our research activities align with our strategic objectives and contribute to the growth and enhancement of our standards portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy that aligns with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of research professionals in the development and execution of research projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including standards development staff, to identify research needs and opportunities that support our standards development activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including academia, industry, and government, to identify research opportunities and collaborate on research projects.
  • Manage research budgets and ensure that research activities are aligned with our organizational priorities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to research staff, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to inform our research activities and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, science, or technology.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a research or standards development environment, with a strong track record of leading research teams and managing research projects.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of research professionals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions that align with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Experience with research funding mechanisms and the ability to secure funding for research projects.
