Job Description:

Axelon Services Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design and develop large-scale distributed data processing systems and applications using Python, Kafka, Spark, SQL, Hive, Impala, Hadoop, Splunk, Autosys, and shell scripting.
  • DevOps: Implement DevOps activities such as Snow, Build (TeamCity, Jenkins), and UDeploy to ensure smooth deployment and operation of data processing systems.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Design best architecture and select the most appropriate modeling techniques and data visualization for big data analysis.
  • Performance Analysis and Troubleshooting: Perform performance analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of data processing systems, including familiarity and investigation of Cloudera/Hadoop logs.
  • Cloud-Based Infrastructure: Develop and maintain cloud-based infrastructures, including Linux-based systems and cloud platforms.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of software development experience building large-scale distributed data processing systems and applications.
  • Skills: Strong experience in Python, Kafka, Spark, SQL, Hive, Impala, Hadoop, Splunk, Autosys, shell scripting, and DevOps activities.
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of capital markets and data analysis.
  • Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a distributed global team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: Experience in UI design, JavaScript, and Angular charting, Graph.
  • Skills: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of capital markets and financial derivatives.
