This is a senior leadership role that oversees the payroll function across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll operations and leadership, with experience in managing teams and driving business results.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Drive Payroll Operations: Oversee the execution of all activities related to payroll and time processes, ensuring compliance with established controls and legislative requirements.
- Partner with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with the Global HR Technology Team, Total Rewards COE, Employee Wellbeing Solutions, and other relevant groups to identify and implement solutions to improve/enhance payroll delivery.
- Build and Lead a High-Performing Team: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to ensure the team's success.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators: Monitor key performance indicators (KPI's), ensuring established SLA's are met or exceeded.
- Engage in Regular Communication: Engage in regular communication and build strong relationships to ensure effective delivery of shared services.
- Ensure Accurate and Timely Administration: Monitor and ensure the accurate and timely administration, remittance, and reporting of payroll-related activities.
- Assist with Regulatory Governance: Assist with external and internal (SOX) regulatory governance and requirements.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert on all aspects of payroll, resolving escalated or high-risk issues or concerns as required.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team and within the Operations group, with a focus on transferring learnings and opportunities across the department and leveraging other solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Understand Risk Appetite and Risk Culture: Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Create a High-Performance Environment: Create an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations within their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
- Build a High-Performance Team: Build a high-performance team and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vision/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
- Post-Secondary Degree: Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Business or related field.
- PLP or PCP Designation: PLP or PCP designation from the National Payroll Institute. Completed or in progress.
- Significant Experience: Significant experience in payroll or related field.
- ERP HCM Systems: Experience with SAP, Oracle/PeopleSoft or other large ERP HCM systems.
- Deep Understanding: Deep understanding and knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
- Strong Knowledge: Strong knowledge of organizational structure and complexity.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven Supervisory Experience: Proven supervisory/leadership experience.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills.
