Job Overview:

At AltaLink, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Expert to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a vital role in developing financial scenarios and presentations for the 10-year plan and quarterly forecasts. You will work closely with the Senior Budget Analyst to provide analysis and support to diverse groups within AltaLink.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive presentations for Executives on all planning materials, including the 10-year plan, monthly and quarterly forecasts.
  • Support the Senior Budget Analyst in the preparation of the annual 10-year plan, including detailed analysis of variances.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and execution of structural changes to the corporate financial model to comply with business, regulatory, and accounting changes.
  • Assist in the development of financial models used for business valuations, scenario analysis, new strategic initiatives, and other purposes.
  • Support the maintenance and running of the financial model used for detailed analysis of monthly results, including validation of variances, calculation of provisions, and occasional leadership of month-end net income meetings.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with a CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of budgeting and financial modeling experience.
  • Proven ability and experience in the above-noted responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and consolidation skills.
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Superior Excel, BI, and SAP skills.
  • Familiarity with HFM, WDesk, and PCS.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and regulatory accounting.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong presentation skills with a focus on user needs.
