Job Summary

As a Culinary Specialist at Alberta Inc. O/A The Chopped Leaf, you will be responsible for planning menus, estimating food requirements, and preparing complete meals or individual dishes and foods. Your duties will also include inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff, and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning: Plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient food preparation and minimize waste.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization, and implement measures to maintain high standards.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure proper food safety and quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient ordering and minimize waste.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Schedule: 35 hours per week.
