The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is seeking qualified candidates to fill occasional teaching positions in elementary and secondary schools across the Waterloo Region.
Job Summary:We are looking for dedicated and passionate educators to join our team as occasional teachers. As an occasional teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and with students of different ages and abilities.
Responsibilities:- Teach and support students in elementary and secondary schools
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
- Qualified Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Educators in Good Standing
- New Faculty of Education Graduate from 2024 and awaiting OCT Number
- New Faculty of Education Graduate graduating 2024/2025
- Applied for or hold an OCT transitional certificate
- Internationally Trained educators with Ontario College of Teacher accreditation
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession
- Practicing Catholic with a strong and active Catholic Faith life
- Proficient knowledge & understanding of Ontario curriculum, evaluation & assessment techniques
- Current in understanding of research, integrating technology and best instructional practices
- Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment for all students

- Cover Letter and Resume
- Copy of Roman Catholic baptismal certificate or confirmation letter from the Parish that you are enrolled/completed the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program
- Declaration of Commitment form
- Two professional academic references that can speak to your experience and skills
- Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification (if applicable)
- Most recent teacher performance appraisal summative reports OR practice teaching reports (if applicable)
- Occasional Teacher Evaluation/Experienced Teacher Evaluation /New Teacher Induction Program reports (if applicable)

- Catholic Pastoral Reference form
