Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Controller to join our Fabrication Shop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling project costs, including planning, developing, controlling, and forecasting the budget. This role will also involve evaluating projects and conducting cost analysis.

The Project Controller will be responsible for:
  1. 1. Developing and implementing project cost control strategies and methods.
    2. Providing project management support for the development of the detailed work plan, coding, and work breakdown structure (WBS).
    3. Carrying out budgetary planning, and cost monitoring, control and closing.
    4. Creating detailed cost reports and forecasts.
    5. Communicating the budget to the project team, monitoring, analyzing, and communicating discrepancies and proposing corrective measures.
    6. Ensuring follow-up with the management team to ensure compliance with the approved budget.
    7. Communicating, collaborating, and ensuring follow-up with the Finance team.
    8. Controlling and posting project-related invoices and following up on approval and payment thereof.
    9. Working with the project team (and contract coordinators) on contract budgets, progress payments, invoicing process, contract amendments, and closing.
    10. Analyzing and controlling cost trends, preparing forecasts and reports on trends, and monitoring cost and budget forecasts.
    11. Preparing the project cash flow curve and ensuring regular updates thereof.
    12. Preparing frequent cost control and project progress reports, namely cost variance analysis reports, change logs, and dashboards, based on established standardized criteria in terms of content and presentation (budgets, commitments, variances, performances), and according to the approved coding structure.
    13. Mentoring the cost control team.
    14. Identifying, evaluating, and communicating financial risks to the project manager.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:
  • • A degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience.
    • At least 10 years of proven experience in project controls within an engineering/construction, oil & gas environment.
    • Proficiency in document control software and systems (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Office, SAP).
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
