Job Title: Senior Control Systems Software Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Software Designer to join our team at ATS Life Sciences Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing world-class automation solutions that meet the needs of our customers in the life sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software programs for automation solutions using PLCs, PCs, and other control systems.
  • Debug and commission control systems at our facility and at customer sites.
  • Travel to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training duties.
  • Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components for automation solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve methods of integrating controls technology and reduce costs.
  • Provide thorough testing of machine functionality to verify software program completeness.
  • Provide accurate documentation for each project.
  • Advise customers on solving technical problems and provide training on machine operation and programming principles.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, systems, or computer engineering.
  • Strong programming, mechanical, and electrical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of robotics, control systems, and machine operation with hands-on experience.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
