Role Overview

The Senior Consultant is tasked with driving commercial expansion, developing service areas, and ensuring the excellence of our service delivery in alignment with clients' current and future requirements. This role is pivotal in achieving substantial revenue targets. The consultant will spearhead the creation of intellectual property and methodologies within their service area, leveraging these for sales initiatives and team training. They will oversee or evaluate critical proposals, manage the execution of high-caliber projects for clients, and mentor both senior and junior team members to enhance performance across all facets.

Avalere Health Consulting leads strategic client engagements and is organized into three primary divisions: Advisory, Expert Partnerships, and Training. The Advisory team concentrates on two main pillars:

  1. Corporate strategy, portfolio management, business development, commercial due diligence, new product strategy
  2. Launch strategy, market entry, customer engagement, organizational transformation

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate strategies and allocate resources to create competitive advantages
  • Exhibit the ability to lead and manage project teams while enhancing strategic thinking among team members
Client Engagement
  • Comprehend client KPIs and objectives to foster strong client relationships
  • Ensure deliverables are designed to surpass client expectations
  • Identify the necessity for project adjustments and coordinate them internally and externally
  • Navigate challenging discussions with clients and provide constructive feedback
  • Articulate complex concepts clearly and secure alignment across various stakeholders, from junior team members to senior leadership
Internal Collaboration
  • Serve as an ambassador for the organization's vision, values, and strategy, ensuring optimal cross-functional collaboration

Business Development and Revenue Generation
  • Accountable for achieving significant multi-million dollar revenue targets
  • Identify new opportunities that expand Avalere Health's capabilities across Consulting and the organization
  • Negotiate strategic agreements that positively impact the business
  • Proactively identify and implement strategies to enhance margins and profitability

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in life sciences or healthcare consulting
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in life sciences; a PhD is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience collaborating with various pharmaceutical and biotech organizations to deliver commercial strategies across diverse therapeutic areas
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operating environment, industry, and market dynamics that influence the role and the firm, using this knowledge to guide our activities
  • Preferably possess experience with early-stage companies
  • A background in Management Consultancy during the early lifecycle, with consulting experience in defining clinical development plans, clinical trial strategies, and early new product planning
  • Regulatory experience with a proven track record of guiding companies through the regulatory landscape
  • A demonstrated history in Business Development and being a growth catalyst in previous roles
  • Able to establish and cultivate client relationships and opportunities from initial interactions, whether reactive or proactive, and convert them into actionable opportunities
