Senior Exploration Geologist

Alamos Gold is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to join our team at the Island Gold Mine in Northern Ontario. As a key member of our exploration team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing geological models, targeting and exploring new areas, and providing technical leadership to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and refine geological models at the deposit and regional scales.
- Analyze and interpret geological data from exploration programs, including diamond drilling, mapping, geophysics, and surface sampling.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior staff, including review and development of best practice technical exploration systems and protocols.
- Contribute to the development of exploration work programs and strategic exploration planning.
- Collaborate with the Exploration Superintendent to ensure technical coaching and mentorship of junior staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Science; post-graduate degree an asset.
- 8-10+ years' experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on orogenic gold deposit models.
- Excellent understanding of geological settings, deposit models, and ore-forming processes.
- Ability to think across scales and integrate diverse, large datasets.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community.
- Experience working on a mine site, liaising with various mine departments, and supervising geological field and drilling campaigns.
- Experience developing, tracking, and reporting on budgets using relevant software.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Leapfrog, GIS, and SQL databases.
- Registered as a Professional Geologist (PGO).
