Job Summary:

The Territory Assistant will provide support to the Territory Manager in implementing all product programs in assigned accounts and with merchandisers. This role is responsible for assisting the Territory Manager in achieving sales goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in training new employees and existing employees on the merchandising process and procedures.
  • Ensure merchandisers maintain the number of planned visits and work the number of scheduled hours for each visit to stay within budget.
  • Provide support to the maintenance team to fill vacant positions during holidays, sick leave, and as needed.
  • Participate in reviewing store layouts, reconfiguring merchandising, moving and installing new fixtures in assigned regions as required.
  • Be flexible to respond to issues that may arise in the store to ensure execution and adherence to current priorities.

Communication Skills:

  • Regularly communicate with the Territory Manager and territory colleagues to stay informed about upcoming programs and activities in the store.
  • Have excellent communication skills to understand, share, and clarify instructions and requirements of the role.
  • Collaborate with the account manager, as a representative of Hallmark, to identify issues and solutions, and inform the Territory Manager.
  • Build and maintain excellent professional relationships with merchandisers and account managers.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience in retail would be an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to move when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of smartphone technology and ability to manage an email account efficiently.
