Job Summary:

The City of Saint John is seeking skilled individuals to fill operational roles in our water department. As a skilled worker, you will be responsible for performing labor-intensive tasks related to water and sanitary systems, water treatment, wastewater treatment, fire hydrants, customer metering, and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned tasks related to water and sanitary systems, water treatment, and wastewater treatment.
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on fire hydrants, customer meters, and facilities.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and machinery related to water and sanitary systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new workplace technologies.
  • Collaborate with other teams to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Relevant two-year technical diploma in a related field.
  • Class 3 drivers' license.
  • Aptitude to learn and adapt to new workplace technologies.
  • Ability to develop in the municipal public service.
  • Desire to strive for excellence.
