Job Summary

We are seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join our Pomerleau civil engineering & infrastructure team. As a key member of our site buying process, you will collaborate closely with the mechanical superintendent and/or project manager to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of supplies.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our large-scale construction projects, ranging from $1.5 million to over a billion dollars. You will be responsible for receiving purchasing requests, participating in daily coordination meetings, purchasing various construction materials, and researching quotes from local suppliers.

In this role, you will also be required to receive goods, replenish site inventory, follow up on out-of-stock products, reconcile delivery notes with purchase orders, and approve invoices. Additionally, you will organize occasional transport of materials and mechanical parts, obtain services of local subcontractors, and adhere to safety procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Receive purchasing requests from Mechanical Superintendent, General Superintendent, and Project Manager;
  2. Participate in daily coordination meetings;
  3. Purchase various construction materials, rental services, and mechanical parts;
  4. Place and follow up on purchase orders;
  5. Research and request quotes from local and nearby suppliers;
  6. Receive goods and replenish site inventory;
  7. Follow up on out-of-stock products, reconcile delivery notes with purchase orders, and approve invoices;
  8. Organize occasional transport of materials and mechanical parts;
  9. Obtain services of local subcontractors for specific needs (snow removal, fuel, waste management);
  10. Adhere to safety procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards;
  11. Work as part of a team, maintaining a pleasant and trusting work environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and other trades on site;
  12. Perform all other related tasks.
