Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Requisition ID: 206343

The Global Fraud Authentications Technology team at Scotiabank develops and manages innovative products designed to support the ever-changing threat landscape. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will work in close partnership with our Fraud Authentications Business and key Technology Partners to drive global technology delivery. This role ensures business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate collaborative solution discovery sessions using lightweight techniques such as Story Mapping.
  2. Decompose solutions into small increments of value (stories) that can be independently built and validated.
  3. Work closely with architects and engineers to ensure a flow of stories are specified, engineered, and validated.
  4. Facilitate collaborative sessions with teams to detail acceptance criteria on stories using practices such as specification by example.
  5. Perform root cause analysis of defects with the team and act as a catalyst for continuous improvement.
  6. Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to review and accept completed stories and features.
  7. Collaborate with the delivery team to define the overall testing approach and perform acceptance testing to validate business requirements in rapid iterations.
  8. Perform exploratory testing and regression testing as necessary, using a risk-based approach.
  9. Design and develop automation testing strategies.
  10. Extend story specifications to align with automation testing strategies while including real-world data, edge cases, etc.

Requirements:

  1. University/college degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  3. Ability to work independently and drive solutions with a small working team.
  4. Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving.
  5. Decision Making.
  6. Time management.
  7. Business process re-engineering.
  8. IT fluency.
  9. Team player.
  10. Comfortable working in an Agile environment.
  11. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  12. Experience in Banking/Financial industry is a plus.
