Project Overview

Aecon, in partnership with EAC, has been awarded a contract to construct the new R.W. Bruhn Bridge, a significant infrastructure project in the Shuswap region of South Central, BC. This project will feature a new four-lane bridge with a pedestrian and cyclist path, highway improvements, and the removal of the old bridge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee finance activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and treasury.
  • Coordinate the close-off process and prepare monthly and yearly financial statements.
  • Setup and manage all treasury functions.
  • Prepare project cash flows and actively manage cash.
  • Develop and implement internal control procedures.
  • Perform monthly cost reviews and assist in developing Estimated Cost at Completion (ECAC).
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate tax returns and manage tax audits.
  • Provide financial support and advice to management.
  • Enhance finance processes to achieve financial goals and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional accounting and finance experience, preferably in the Construction industry.
  • Degree in Accounting or Business Management required.
  • Canadian accounting designation - CPA completed or in progress is an asset.
  • Experience working on large projects.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and percentage of completion accounting.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills.
