We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at AR HOME RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION INC. as a key member of our construction team.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements, and preparing layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
Key Responsibilities:- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Scheduling and co-ordinating work on sites.
- Surveying building locations and levels.
- Instructing apprentices.
- Supervising other workers.
- Estimating costs and materials.
- Operating CADD and other computer software systems.
- Maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the trade.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
