HIV Medical Affairs Role
Gilead Sciences is seeking a Medical Scientist to join our team in the HIV therapeutic area. As a Medical Scientist, you will be responsible for implementing defined goals and objectives aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan of Action and other strategic initiatives within the HIV therapeutic area.
The Role:
- Implement defined goals and objectives aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan of Action and other strategic initiatives within the HIV therapeutic area.
- Anticipate obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolve them in a collaborative manner.
- Work collaboratively with Gilead personnel in Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Clinical Research, Global Safety and Global Medical Affairs.
- Exhibit Gilead's core values: integrity, inclusion, teamwork, accountability, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Education:
- Respond to on- and off-label clinical inquiries regarding marketed or developmental Gilead products.
- Develop and present complex scientific and clinical data related to Gilead products to health care providers and other internal and external stakeholders, as requested.
- Disseminate scientific information, as requested, including medical education materials, slide decks, publications, etc. to support clinical practice.
KOL Development:
- Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators and healthcare professionals at academic and non-academic settings.
- Identify and develop regional and national opinion leader advocates for Gilead products through personal contacts and on-site visits.
Research/Data Generation Support:
- Support Gilead clinical operations through site/investigator identification and liaising regarding recruitment and enrollment challenges.
Critical Competencies:
- Advanced health sciences degree (M.D., Pharm. D., PhD are preferred) with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Experience in HIV and/or infectious disease therapeutic area preferred, but not required.
