Wood is currently seeking a highly skilled Civil Designer to join our Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. This position will report to the Engineering Manager. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop infrastructure projects for mining and transportation, including site development, roadways, railways, buried and overland piping, water and wastewater treatment plants, and pump stations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D design/drafting software to create detailed designs and drawings.
  • Process and modify topographic data to meet project needs, set up project survey reference points, and establish coordinate systems.
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Design Technology.
  • 5+ years of relevant design experience in mining, industrial facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of standard drawings for mining and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D design/drafting software.
  • Understanding of various coordinate systems and geodetic elevation references.
  • Proficiency in GIS-based applications.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, writing, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Legal authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood.
