About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Property Underwriter to join our growing team at Liberty Mutual Canada. This individual will be responsible for underwriting and profitably growing a portfolio of property and casualty (P&C) business within the Ontario & Atlantic Region.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and analytical professional to develop their skills in commercial underwriting, relationship management, and strategic planning. About the Role

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Managing a portfolio of new and renewal P&C business, contributing to the region's profitable growth in target lines of business.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to achieve profitable growth through technical research and relationship building.
  • Maintaining a quality pipeline of prospects through targeted marketing, cross-selling, and account rounding efforts with key broker partners.
  • Ensuring proper risk selection, exposure review, setting of profitable terms and conditions, file documentation, adherence to underwriting guidelines and strategies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience underwriting commercial P&C insurance.
  • Post-secondary education with relevant insurance designation(s)/education considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solutions-oriented attitude to drive profitable growth.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills.
