Main Responsibilities

The Application Configuration Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal utilization of COTS and custom software systems by providing configuration enhancements, support, and training, as well as quality assurance.

This involves gathering and analyzing business requirements to determine the configuration needs of COTS or custom applications, setting up software applications based on specifications and requirements, and modifying and customizing the application to meet the unique needs of the organization.

The successful candidate will conduct thorough testing to ensure that configurations and customizations work as intended without causing issues, create and maintain documentation related to configurations, customizations, and changes made to the application, and provide ongoing support, troubleshooting issues, and performing regular maintenance and updates to the application.

Additionally, the Application Configuration Specialist will train end-users and other stakeholders on how to use the configured application effectively and work closely with other IT professionals, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure that the application supports business processes and objectives.

Education and Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in application configuration and support, excellent problem-solving abilities, and technical skills related to configuring enterprise-level COTS software.

They will also have strong experience in creating and maintaining workflows, business rules, and reports, a strong understanding of application security models, excellent communication and documentation skills, and experience with SDLC and IT change management processes.

Additionally, the candidate will have experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and SQL queries and procedures is an asset.
