Job Title: Application Configuration Specialist

Telesat is seeking an experienced Application Configuration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal utilization of COTS and custom software systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Gather and analyze business requirements to determine the configuration needs of COTS or custom applications.
  • Set up software applications based on specifications and requirements.
  • Modify and customize applications to ensure they fit the unique needs of the organization.
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure configurations and customizations work as intended.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to configurations, customizations, and changes made to the application.
  • Train end-users and other stakeholders on how to use the configured application effectively.
  • Work closely with other IT professionals, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure the application supports business processes and objectives.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in application configuration and support.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical skills related to configuring enterprise-level COTS software.
  • Strong experience in creating and maintaining workflows, business rules, and reports.
  • Strong understanding of application security models.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with SDLC and IT change management processes.
  • Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint.
  • Experience with SQL queries and procedures is an asset.
