Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing holistic care to patients with cancer, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, and treatment coordination.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient reactions and adjusting care plans accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all interactions, assessments, and care provided.
  • Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing education and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR (Level C) certification.
  • One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in oncology nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying current with best practices in oncology nursing.
