We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing holistic care to patients with cancer, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, and treatment coordination.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient reactions and adjusting care plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all interactions, assessments, and care provided.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing education and support as needed.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR (Level C) certification.
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in oncology nursing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying current with best practices in oncology nursing.
