Job Summary:

The School District #23 (Central Okanagan) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educational professional to fill a Full and Part-Time temporary contract, and Teacher Teaching on Call position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to implement BC's Education Plan and the Redesigned Curriculum
  • Participate in the implementation of the school level Collaborative Model of Support and develop the School District Attributes for the 21st Century in all students
  • Utilize technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communication, classroom instruction, and reporting purposes
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of the School and District goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Experience at the Intermediate level
  • Experience in differentiating and providing inclusive learning opportunities that reflect the unique needs and interests of all students
  • Training/experience in Quality Assessment practices
  • Additional professional experience and/or post-secondary courses in intermediate education with a focus on literacy and numeracy
  • A strong interest in innovation and inquiry
  • Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal)

Requirements:

  • Complete an on-line application
  • Include a cover letter, resume, Undergrad degree, Bachelor of Education degree, corresponding transcripts, BC teaching certificate, TQS card, practicum or evaluation reports, and letters of reference

Compensation:

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
