Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and contribute to their rehabilitation journey.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of our experienced Physiotherapists to assist with conducting group exercises, leading one-on-one exercises, and implementing treatment programs tailored to each resident's needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with conducting group exercises and lead one-on-one exercises as directed by the Physiotherapist
  • Encourage residents to reach their planned treatment goals and document progress after each therapy session
  • Monitor residents' health status and report any changes to the Physiotherapist or supervisor
  • Perform various treatments such as applying ice packs, hot packs, ultrasound therapy, TENS, and hot wax
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in Physiotherapy Assistance and meet the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant program or equivalent
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Effective communication skills to interact with elderly residents, supervisors, and teammates
  • Experience working in Ontario Long Term Care or Retirement homes
  • Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector required
  • Valid 2 Step TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray required
