Job Summary

The Clinical Social Worker Associate is a key member of our multidisciplinary team at McLean Hospital, responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to patients and their families. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the efficient operation of our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing assessment and formulation of patient needs to update their plan of care, including timely completion of treatment plans that meet clinical and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver clinical services to patients and family members as appropriate, including crisis stabilization, family support, and intervention.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services by the patient's multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Act as primary liaison with family and significant others, referrers, and community agencies and professionals to develop a timely and comprehensive discharge plan.
  • Collaborate with the Utilization Manager to manage patient care in a clinically and fiscally sound manner.
  • Ensure timely completion of all documentation and other required paperwork needed to facilitate patient evaluation, transition, and billing.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Attaining Massachusetts LCSW licensure is not required upon hire, but it is a requirement to receive LCSW licensure within 12 months of hire or upon the one year anniversary of employment, as a condition of continued employment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Broad range of clinical skills, including psychiatric assessment, case formulation, and treatment planning.
  • Crisis stabilization and family support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a rapidly changing system of care.
  • Familiarity with computerized clinical databases.
Experience
  • Experience in providing a range of clinical services, including assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Experience in a managed care environment and the capacity to work collaboratively with managed care organizations.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff within the hospital and the community.
