The estimated salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety and Environmental Advisor to support our tunnel construction projects. The successful candidate will actively promote a healthy and safe culture within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations, safe work practices, and procedures.

This role involves:

  • Supporting project-specific tunnel operations safety and environmental management plans and procedures;
  • Training project staff in tunnel safety procedures;
  • Tracking and reporting safety-related statistics;
  • Managing return-to-work and modified duties cases at the field level;
  • Supporting human performance program activities;
  • Assisting in the development of job hazard analysis, high-hazard, critical lifting, and handling forms, and auditing them in the field.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A designation such as CHSO, CRSP, or NSCO;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety within tunnel construction;
  • Knowledge and understanding of tunnel and shaft regulations;
  • Knowledge and experience working with tunnel boring machines (TBM);
  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field;
  • Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage sub-contractor safety performance;
  • Emergency planning and hot work procedures knowledge.
