Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Spiritual Care Coordinator to join our team at Niagara Long Term Care Residence. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing spiritual care and support to our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a spiritual care program that meets the diverse needs of our residents and staff.
  • Provide pastoral care services, including counseling, education, and advocacy, to residents, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Spiritual Care Lead and Programs Manager to plan, implement, and evaluate spiritual care programs.
  • Coordinate and select pastoral service providers, ensuring high-quality services are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Act as a resource for education, counseling, and advocacy, promoting a culture of respect, dignity, and compassion.
  • Assess the spiritual and religious needs of each resident, informing the development of personalized care plans.
  • Develop and lead spiritual programs, including ecumenical church services, communion, and denominational services.
  • Provide spiritual counseling, support, and guidance to residents, families, and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as spiritual care, counseling, or theology.
  • 3-5 years of experience in spiritual care, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Training or experience in multi-faith programming and second language skills consistent with the resident population.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
