Senior Application Engineer - Software and Automation

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Engineer - Software and Automation to join our team at ANSYS, Inc. This role will be responsible for providing technical pre-sales support, performing professional services, and helping to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, including technical discovery, negotiating technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
  • Support Ansys field and digital marketing, author conference presentations, and contribute to consulting services.
  • Conduct introductory and/or intermediate training classes and develop application best practices.
Requirements:
  • MS in Mechanical/Civil/Material/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: MS+3, or PhD+0.
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English, excellent presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD+3 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment.
  • Three years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer-facing roles using engineering software.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
  • Seven or more years of experience in the use of ANSYS Mechanical software, or other commercial FEA software for Structural Mechanics.
