Perinatal Nurse

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Perinatal team. As a key member of our inter-professional care team, you will provide direct patient care to childbearing patients and their families during the intra, postpartum and high-risk antepartum periods.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients and unborn babies, allocating them to appropriate care areas within the Maternal Program.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the inter-professional care team to develop, implement, and modify optimal patient and unborn baby care plans.
- Participate in care and discharge planning, ensuring effective care plan implementation and updates.
- Coordinate nursing care, making referrals to the inter-professional care team according to established protocols and practice standards.
- Teach patients and families about health promotion, pregnancy conditions, birth experiences, postpartum care, and parenting.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Graduate from an approved School of Nursing, current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and one year's recent, related clinical perinatal nursing experience in the designated clinical area.
Current Basic Rescuer (Level C) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certificates are also required.
