About the Role

Oxford Learning Brampton Ebenezer is seeking a part-time teacher-tutor to work with elementary or high school students in our learning centre. As an Interactive Coach, you will play a key role in helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem.

Responsibilities
  • Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 1-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Work Environment

Oxford Learning is a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of flexibility and knowledge of behaviour management strategies. You will be working directly with students and will be required to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
