We're seeking a talented Engineering Software Administrator to join our engineering team as a key contributor in maintaining, optimizing, and improving our Engineering software, including CAD and PLM/PDM tools.

This full-time position is based out of our Kelowna, Canada office and reports to the IT Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve CAD/PLM/PDM software configurations, including Object Initialization Rules (OIRs), Lifecycle and Workflow templates, teams, groups, and roles.
  • Manage Windchill Visualization Services (WVS) and CAD Worker configurations, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy.
  • Create and schedule replication tasks to optimize data consistency and availability.
  • Provide expert support for Engineering staff using Creo Parametric and Windchill, addressing technical issues and promoting efficient workflows.
  • Develop and manage material libraries, templates, and standard BOM structures to enhance CAD and PLM data accuracy.
  • Configure and maintain standard settings for Creo Parametric users, facilitating onboarding new employees and ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Train new users on the fundamentals of PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill, empowering them to effectively utilize these tools.
  • Troubleshoot server- and client-side issues, collaborating with 3rd-party consultants when necessary to resolve complex problems.
  • Design and implement relevant business data reporting using Windchill Reports and Report Query builder, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Cultivate close relationships with the IT department and 3rd-party consultants to ensure successful enterprise software deployments and continuous improvement projects.
  • Proactively identify process improvements, such as change automation and ERP integration, to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in CAD or PLM/PDM software administration.
  • Familiarity with PTC products is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SQL (T-SQL), Java, and JavaScript is beneficial.
  • Understanding of enterprise BOM design and data architecture best practices.
  • Awareness of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Best Practices and engineering change processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to find root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Able to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Possess a valid passport, with the ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time.
