We are seeking a highly motivated Farming Specialist to join our team at Top Tomato Foods. As a key member of our farming operation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our vegetable farming business.
Job SummaryThe Farming Specialist will be responsible for planting, cultivating and irrigating crops, as well as operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment. You will also examine product for quality and its readiness for market.
Key Responsibilities- Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Examine product for quality and its readiness for market
- Apply the technique of hoeing between the row
- Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A strong understanding of farming practices and techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
- Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
Prior experience in farming or a related field is an asset.
Work EnvironmentThis position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including wet/damp and hot environments. You will also be exposed to odours and dusty conditions.
Compensation and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $40,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits.
