About the Role

CIMA+ is seeking a highly skilled Civil Structural Engineer to join our team specializing in the engineering of hydropower and dams. As a key member of our Energy & Resources business sector, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preliminary and Detailed Design: Develop structural designs for hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Engineering for Rehabilitation: Conduct engineering studies and assessments for the rehabilitation of hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-effective solutions.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of new projects, including stability studies for dams and other hydraulic structures.
  • Inspections and Quality Control: Conduct detailed and summary inspections of various structures, including dams, spillways, water intakes, penstocks, and other structures related to hydroelectric production, ensuring optimal quality and on-time delivery.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documents for quotation purposes, including customer-specific plans and specifications for tendering purposes.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate solution choices and technical design decisions to customers, participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders from various disciplines, and monitor project costs and schedules.
  • Leadership and Development: In the medium term, support and direct less experienced engineers and technicians, and ensure multidisciplinary technical coordination and project management.
Requirements
  • Education: University Degree in Civil Engineering, with civil/structural engineering experience in the hydropower/hydroelectric and dam sector.
  • Experience: More than five (5) years of experience in structural design, primarily concrete and steel structures.
  • Skills: Autonomy, sense of initiative, and ability to work as part of a team, fluency in oral and written French, and proficiency in oral and written English in a professional context.
