Role Overview
The Faculty Recruitment Coordinator is pivotal in facilitating the hiring process for academic positions at University Canada West. This role involves close collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team and academic departments to ensure the effective recruitment and onboarding of distinguished faculty members who resonate with the institution's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with academic departments to assess faculty staffing requirements and position specifications.
- Draft and finalize job descriptions for faculty roles, ensuring alignment with departmental needs and consistency prior to publication.
- Manage job postings across various platforms, employing a range of recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
- Coordinate and participate in faculty interviews, providing necessary support to the interview panel and gathering feedback.
- Oversee recruitment documentation, ensuring precision and adherence to institutional policies and regulations.
- Prepare employment contracts and relevant documentation for selected candidates and existing faculty.
- Work with the onboarding team to ensure a seamless integration for new faculty members.
- Foster positive relationships with current and prospective faculty members.
- Act as a resource for inquiries regarding faculty recruitment processes, ensuring a positive experience for all candidates.
- Maintain and update recruitment-related data spreadsheets with the latest information.
- Manage internal candidate referrals, collaborating with academic departments to ensure data accuracy.
- Continuously assess and enhance recruitment processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate and engage in recruitment events, job fairs, and hiring initiatives to attract top talent.
- Conduct training sessions for hiring managers on interview best practices and the talent acquisition process.
- Keep abreast of current processes and procedures, including internal guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and onboarding.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment coordination, particularly in academic or faculty settings is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in managing complex recruitment processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with academic environments and insights into faculty recruitment challenges.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full-cycle recruitment process.
- Ability to handle sensitive communications with discretion.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in recruitment coordination, human resources, or a similar field.
- Previous experience in a human resources or academic coordination role is advantageous.
