Key Responsibilities- Route Planning and Execution: Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and protected.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure that it is in good working order.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks to extend the life of the vehicle and prevent breakdowns.
