Job Opportunity: Retail Team Lead

As a member of our store management team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our store. We're seeking a Retail Team Lead to help drive operational excellence, foster a dynamic team environment, and uphold our brand values.

Role Overview

As a Retail Team Lead, you will collaborate closely with the Store Manager to ensure seamless store operations, achievement of targets, and adherence to company policies and regulations. You will lead by example, inspire your team, and contribute to the growth of our brand.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Store Manager to manage daily operations, meeting key performance indicators, profit and loss targets, and exceeding customer expectations.
  2. Embody and communicate the brand's values, attitude, and culture to create a positive and engaging shopping environment.
  3. Ensure consistent implementation of corporate programs, initiatives, and strategies.
  4. Assist in the successful execution of programs, policies, routine tasks, seasonal initiatives, and specific store needs.
  5. Contribute to effective succession planning, recruiting, hiring, and training strategies to reduce store turnover.
  6. Develop and mentor staff by providing performance feedback, seizing coaching opportunities, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  7. Promote a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, providing resources for employee accountability, creating an efficient work environment, and setting team goals aligned with success factors.
  8. Collaborate with Store Manager to develop actionable plans, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  9. Take accountability for training and in-store execution across all areas, including business, operations, sales, customer service, and visual merchandising.
  10. Manage recordkeeping for applicants, new hires, payroll, performance appraisals, reviews, counseling, disciplinary actions, and employee separations.
  11. Work closely with Store Manager to optimize inventory levels and product selections to drive sales.
  12. Support Store Manager in maintaining wage costs and overall expense control within guidelines.
  13. Ensure accuracy in cash management and minimize shrinkage within the store.
  14. Assume responsibility for store and product security protocols, monitoring their effectiveness in deterring theft.
  15. Uphold company policies and procedures related to POS system integrity, maintaining the confidentiality of retail operating information.
  16. Ensure compliance with government legislation regarding employment standards and health and safety guidelines for store operations and associates.
  17. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean store environment in alignment with Zwilling and legal standards.
  18. Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines to create an attractive and engaging shopping atmosphere.
  19. Collaborate with Store Manager and District Manager, performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

We're looking for a candidate with a college or university degree and a minimum of 2 years of Retail Management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous management and leadership experience is preferred.

Skills and Attributes

We're seeking a candidate with the following skills and attributes:

  • Proficiency in retail operations, including selling skills and business management.
  • Strong coaching and talent management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems quickly (e.g., POS systems, web portals, etc.).
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, lift up to 12 kg frequently, and occasionally lift up to 25 kg.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays, as well as additional hours during peak sales periods.
