About the Opportunity
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares, dispenses, and administers radiopharmaceuticals to perform more than 70 nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies, effectively, efficiently, professionally, and ethically. This role requires adapting procedures, performing complex computer manipulations, and analysis while providing a high standard of healthcare to clients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, dispense, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures and therapies
- Perform complex computer manipulations and analysis
- Adapt procedures to meet client needs
- Provide high-quality healthcare to clients
- Contribute to quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer is considered an asset
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
What We Offer
Nova Scotia Health offers a competitive salary range of $34.24 - $39.96 hourly, as well as a benefits package including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
