Senior Software Engineering Lead for Global Wealth Management Solutions

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineering Lead for Global Wealth Management Solutions, to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology.
About the RoleIn this challenging and rewarding position, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams of software engineers to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge solutions for our global wealth management business lines. Your technical expertise, combined with your exceptional leadership skills, will drive innovation and excellence in all aspects of software development.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in cloud-based technologies, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices. You will be expected to mentor junior team members, provide technical guidance, and contribute to the overall growth and success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for our global wealth management business lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, define project scope, and establish project timelines.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
- Contribute to the identification and resolution of technical issues, working closely with other teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on cloud-based technologies and microservices architecture.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git), and build tools (e.g., Maven).
- A solid understanding of security principles and practices, with experience in developing secure software solutions.
