Job Summary:

This position involves working as a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor for the course Introduction to Computing II. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and giving weekly laboratories/tutorials, correcting assignments and related duties, weekly office hours and E-mail support to students, midterm and final examination proctoring.

Requirements:

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed this course or its equivalent and its prerequisite(s) with a mark of A or better
  • Attend a TA workshop if necessary
  • Must be ready for an interview if considered for this position
  • Advanced experience of object-oriented programming in Java
  • Excellent knowledge of the implementation of list, stack, queue and tree data structures
  • Candidate must have an excellent command of Java, its libraries and the design of graphical user interfaces
  • A good grasp of English is required, as well as very strong English writing skills
