Electrical Engineer Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join WSP Canada in the Commercial and Tenant Fit-out sectors. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems for commercial office buildings, warehouses, and retail spaces.

  • Design electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, and emergency power systems for commercial office buildings, warehouses, and retail spaces.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including lighting, mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare and review AutoCAD and Revit 3D models for electrical systems, perform clash detection, and ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of electrical engineering requirements, building codes, and standards, including Ontario Building Code (OBC), CSA, ASHRAE, IEEE, OESC, CEC, NFPA, and others.
  • Work independently to deliver comprehensive designs and meet project deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and registered P.Eng. with PEO.
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in designing electrical systems for commercial buildings, warehouses, and retail spaces.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with software used for engineering studies, including load, fault, and coordination, wireless device heat maps, and lighting calculations.
