About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Designer to join our team at Plan Group, Inc. As an Electrical VDC Designer, you will play a critical role in developing detailed electrical installation drawings and collaborating with project teams to ensure efficient and accurate design outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed electrical installation drawings in Revit, incorporating engineering drawings, project specifications, and construction design plan instructions.
  • Design and develop installation drawings for a wide range of electrical building systems, including power distribution, branch power, and lighting.
  • Interact and collaborate with project teams to develop drawings efficiently and accurately, while maintaining time and schedule constraints.
  • Model and coordinate electrical infrastructure, resolving model clashes with other trades.
  • Navigate and interpret structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings for various occupancy types and spaces.
  • Perform technical calculations, including voltage drop and conduit fill.
  • Review design drawings and provide feedback to ensure requirements are met.
  • Understand and comply with project schedules to submit deliverables and implement changes and revisions as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems from both design and installation perspectives, including power distribution, branch power, and lighting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products, including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and ACC platform.
  • Understanding of drawing levels, references files, CAD tools, scaling, dimensioning, and cross-sectional interpolations.
