Job Title: Welder Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team at Bothar. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all equipment used by the company. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, with a focus on ensuring the safe, technical, and economical execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding, fabrication, fit-up, and layout tasks to meet project requirements.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, and hand tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Participate in safety inspections, tailgate meetings, and other team activities to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the training of Apprentice Welders and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Welder Red Seal Journeyman certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in welding works.
  • Relevant work experience with Microtunnel Boring Machines and trenchless technology is an asset.
  • Pressure pipe welding experience is an asset.
  • CWB certification would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

This position is assigned to the Calgary Yard, and to field locations during operations. Hours of work may vary, including night shifts based on project schedules. Must be eligible to work in Canada. Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol clearance is required. Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
