The Abilities Case Specialist plays a vital role in supporting employees who are experiencing work-related and non-work-related disabilities. As part of our Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness team, you will be responsible for managing employee disability claims, developing return-to-work plans, and coordinating temporary and permanent workplace accommodations.
Primary Responsibilities:- Employee Disability Management: Manage employee disability claims, including short and long-term cases, to ensure timely and effective support.
- Return to Work Process Support: Collaborate with employees, managers, and healthcare professionals to support the return-to-work process.
- Accommodation Coordination: Coordinate temporary and permanent workplace accommodations to facilitate successful return to work.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or other health-related science discipline.
- Experience: Minimum three years of experience in disability claims management, preferably in a unionized environment and healthcare setting.
- Registration and Certification: Registration with relevant college and membership in relevant professional association preferred.
